TRANSPORTATION FROM THE AIRPORT/TRAIN STATION

Transfers upon arrival and departure will be organized for the

participants according to the information given in the reservation

form. A CIM team will welcome participants at Sofia Airport

and at Central Railway station and will direct them to

the transport vehicles for transfers to the hotel. Each transport

vehicle will be marked with the name of the meeting.

The organization of the departures will be coordinated by

the transport team of CIM Ltd. A departure list will be available

at the Registration Desk where participants can check their

transfers by date and hour.

The price for transfer in one direction is 12 Euro per person.

TRANSPORTATION IN THE CITY

Main transportation vehicles in the city are public buses, trams

and trolleybuses. Tickets can be purchased from all ticket–outlets

and newspaper kiosks at the price of 0,70 BGN per ticket for

a single travel. The price for one ticket bought from the

driver is 0,80 BGN. After getting into the vehicle the ticket

is to be validated by means of punching machine and it should

be kept until getting off the vehicle.

From the city center the University of Chemical Technology and

Metallurgy could be easily reached by the following buses:

Ø Bus No 413 from Central Railway and Bus stations.

Ø Bus No 280 from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.

Ø Bus No 94 from National Palace of Culture.

Taxis are available all over the city. You can order taxi at

the reception of the hotel.

PASSPORTS & VISAS

Only valid passports are required from all the EC countries.

Entry visas from other foreigners are required when entering

Bulgaria. The entry visas can be obtained from the Bulgarian

Embassies or consulate offices.

MONETARY SYSTEM

The national currency is the Bulgarian Lev. Bank notes of

the following denominations are in circulation: 1, 2, 5, 10,

20, 50 and 100 BGN.

1 Euro = 1.95583 BGN according to the Bulgarian National Bank.

CURRENCY

Facilities for foreign exchange are available at hotels,

banks and exchange bureaux in the city.

CLIMATE

Moderate climate: mild spring and autumn, hot summer,

cold snowy winters. The weather at the beginning of September

is sunny and nice.

Daily temperatures range from 23 to 28o C.

Summer time: GMT + 3 hrs. (April through September)
